Hello! Welcome back to this free series on stress management. I have you in my closet with me today because I’d like to share a little space I meditate in every day. That’s not the first tool and technique that I wanted to share with you but I do think it’s very important and valuable to our bodies to spend 20 minutes of quiet still time. There’s so many different CDs and ways you can meditate that I don’t want to get into that really right now but I do want to share with you one particular breathing technique that your body really responds to, that really brings you down into a calm level and you can use this technique when you’re about to go into a meeting, when your body maybe is getting. You can use this when you go pick up your kids, before you go home, before your transition throughout your day. But there are a couple of things I want to share with you. It’s recommended that you do not any more than 4 breaths while you’re starting that’s why it’s so quick and I will show you how...
Hi! Welcome back to this series on stress management, I’m Stephanie McCannon and I have you in my car today. I actually wanted to share two stress management tips with you but they go hand in hand and they’re two things that I actually do when I’m driving around to reduce my stress. One of them is being mindful, is practicing mindfulness and I do that when driving by noticing my steering wheel. I actually start focusing on the placement of my hands, how my hand feel around the steering wheel and am I gripping the steering wheel tightly or loosely, are my fingernails digging into the palm of my hands? What’s the temperature of steering wheel, how does it feel to hold it? All of these detailed things I start focusing on.
The other thing that I wanted to share with you is smiling. When you’re driving around town and when you’re participating in a maybe unwanted stressful driving situation. Try to smile a real smile, I call it a real deal smile when you get your mouth and your eyes invol...
Hi! Welcome back to this series on stress management, I’m Stephanie McCannon. I have another quick tip you can use throughout your day to help control and manage stressful situations.
Often times when we are starting to feel anxious or stress we’re not very clear on why we’re acting that way. So that’s the first thing I want to go over with you. I say name it to tame it. We have to be clear in identifying what is causing your stress. I’ll give you a little example. I like to walk into my kid’s room and have them look tidy. They don’t have to be clean but they should be tidy. I don’t like to see a lot of stuff on the floor and I was able to identify what really makes me have a feeling of calm versus a feeling of anxiety or stress when I enter their room. I was able to identify if their beds were made, I would feel much better about their rooms. I initially started by trying to insist that they make their beds before they left for school but what that did was actually create more stre...

All these events are happening that we have to deal with throughout our life. But there are things that we can put in place. There are positive practices that we can implement to help reduce the effects of stress on our bodies. It’s so important that we do these and do them consistently. Develop these little habits of healthfulness to encourage your body to return to that calm centered state that it’s so wanting to get to throughout our day.

The United Nations has actually declared stress a worldwide epidemic and most doctors and researchers have concluded that stress is responsible over 80 to 90% of all illnesses and diseases. It’s very disturbing right?
I know this all too well and as a young mother and entrepreneur, was in my late 20’s, I was diagnosed with autoimmune disorder that was threatening to take my life. The doctors actually gave me three choices.
The first choice was to take a large grocery bag full of medication every day for the rest of my life. I didn’t particularly care for that option. Who ...
In the third pillar of natural healing process, the first thing we have to figure out is; what is food? I don’t need to convince you that pre-packaged, highly preservatives laden items aren’t nourishing for your body. They’re really toxic. It’s the kind of food you shouldn’t be consuming.
These toxic substances isn’t recognized by your body and it doesn’t know what to do with it and it’s very hard on your liver. Your liver is very vital for nourishing your body. If you are constantly providing things that your body doesn’t recognize and can’t use, it’s very difficult for your liver. When your liver doesn’t function accordingly, it will affect your entire health system.
So, we need to be nice to our liver and provide real food. Before, I ate lots of organic and healthy foods. I followed different diets and recommendations and I realized it wasn’t beneficial for my body. So I had to figure out what was nourishing for me. I went into series of searching until I decided to go into an eli...
You already know about the first two pillars of natural body healing process which are thinking and breathing. What I will discuss to you in this blog is the third pillar, which is the nourishment.
Nourishment is important for proper development, it’s necessary for health and good condition. When you are a properly nourished person, you become more active and positive throughout the day. Proper nutrition is basically one of the factors that will make you a healthy person.
However, there are person who are not proper nourished. Improper nourishment or digestion can result from three major things: the first is eating too quickly, the second is eating the wrong kinds of food, and the third is eating too many types of food at the same time. This kind of behavior is not good, especially if you are a busy person. Eating unconsciously will make you a less healthy person and it affects your lifestyle.
To be able to suppress or stop that problem, I created a very unique system of nourishin...
The second pillar of natural body healing process is BREATHING. Proper breathing technique is very essential so that our blood circulation is good. When breathing properly too, we are able to let out the intoxicated air out of our body and let in fresher ones.
In this blog, I’m going to teach you how to breathe properly. Let’s learn how to take a proper breath. First, I’d like you for you to lay down with your knees bend and your hands by your side. Second, if you have a piece of paper or a piece of magazine get it before you lay down. Third, place the paper or the magazine in your belly. With your knees bend, hands by your side I want you to really concentrate on moving that paper. Think about your muscle down here, your diaphragm and pull your air in. if you pull the air in, the paper should rise. Then push the air out and let the paper fall.
Now I will tell you if you’re not used to properly breathing, this muscle needs to be built back up. So you’re going to start practicing breathi...
It’s very important to set your body up in a very positive, relaxed and happy state before it goes into its healing cycle. Now, the healing cycle is when you’re sleeping. Your body voluntarily heals when you are in a very calm state. When you’re resting and is free off negative thoughts, your body easily targets off bad toxics surrounding itself.
When you’re about to lay your head on the pillow, that is not the time to be going through your day recounting all the things that you didn’t particularly care for. It is not the time to start focusing on hurt or sadness or not feeling good. You got to use your mind to help heal your body and maintain health. Stop overthinking and pressuring yourself from negativity.
So as you’re laying with your head on the pillow, I want you to start thinking of thoughts that make you feel good, things that are positive. They can be from a past experience, they can even be from when you were a child. It can be a future event that you are really looking for...
There are four pillars in the natural healing process. The first one I’m going to share with you is your thinking. We have a head for many purposes, one of it is to majorly think. We have this beautiful brain of ours to help us to heal and to live in happiness, have success and fulfillment. You can use your thinking to either help you or to hurt you.
I’m going to show you some very simple techniques and procedures that you can start implementing today that will help you shift your focus from negative to a positive one. Particularly, if you’re not even aware of the negative things that are running around in your head on a daily basis you have to learn now how to control it.
The most successful and healthiest people, they have a particular thinking pattern. When they’re faced with obstacles or things that don’t go their way, they have an automatic focus on looking for solution. They don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the negative aspects of it and they certainly don’t spend a lot ...
